Yesterday after flying in we visited the Sertoma Butterfly House. Not exactly a world-famous tourist attraction, but it was pretty neat. Especially interesting to me were the cocoons in various stages of hatching, and the Atlas Moth - the largest moth in the world. This moth lives in its cocoon for 18 months, then hatches and lives for 5-6 days to lay its eggs before it dies. The one we saw was wider from wingtip to wingtip than the length of my dad's hand from middle fingertip to wrist!
Had a good time at church this morning at Empire Baptist Temple. We even got to see some friends who were visiting from North Dakota!
Tomorrow we are headed to Mt. Rushmore with a detour through the Black Hills. We're just hoping the rain holds off enough so we can actually *see* Mt. Rushmore.
Then we're back here for the graduation on Wednesday with Tuesday just being a free day in between. There is a 15-mile bike trail that looks pretty fun, but there might be rain on Tuesday too.
